The Public Procurement Research Centre, Federal University of Technology, Owerri was commissioned on 8th October, 2012 by the United Nation Development Programme Country Representative in the presence of the Centre initiator, the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and dignitaries from National Assembly, Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Federal government.

Engr. Prof. Gloria Chukwudebe
Gloria Azogini Chukwudebe is a Professor of Electronics and Computer Engineering at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO). She holds a B.Eng (Hons) and M.Eng degrees in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and a PhD in the same field from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom.
She has served the University as Head of Department, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, FUTO, 1999 –2005, Director of Computer Centre 2010 – 2011 and Director of ICT, 2011 – 2014. 2006 – 2009, Gloria took her gown to town by serving as an ICT Consultant to Shell Petroleum Dev. Co., Nigeria.
Engr. Prof. G. A. Chukwudebe is a fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers, a fellow of the Nigerian Computer Society, and has also served as a member of the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) 1996-1998. She is also a member, Association of Professional Women Engineering of Nigeria, Chair, Institute of Electric/Electrical Engineers (IEEE), Nigeria sector 2011-2015 as well as Chair, IEEE Africa Area.

Mr Michael Igara Nmecha
Mr Michael Igara Nmecha has worked at PPRC since 2012. Mr Michael Igara Nmecha is an adaptable and responsible Staff. He has a clear logical mind with a practical approach to problem-solving and a drive to see things through completion. He holds a B.Eng (Hons) degree in Agricultural Engineering and Masters of Science in Environmental Technology both from the Federal University of Technology Owerri.

Dr Benedict Anayochukwu Ozurumba
Deputy Director, PPRC
Benedict Anayochukwu Ozurumba is a Senior Lecturer at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO). He holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Econs from Abia State University, Uturu, M.Sc (Econs) from Imo State University, Owerri, M.Sc and PhD in (Financial Management Technology) from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
He has served the University as Coordinator of Postgraduate Programmes (Continuing Education Programmes), Financial Management Technology Department, FUTO, (2008 - 2016), Research Associate, Centre for Research and International Development (CRID), FUTO, Ex-Deputy Director, Center for Entrepreneurial Studies (CES), FUTO, (2016-2017).
Dr B.A. Ozurumba is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) and is currently a serving member of NES Council (2017 - 2019). He is also a member, International Academy of Business and Behavioural Sciences (IABBS), USA, (2009 to Date).

Mrs Lauretta Patrick-Nwachi
Mrs Lauretta Patrick-Nwachi is the Centre Administrator and Assistant to the Director PPRC. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Benin, Nigeria. Prior to the PPRC Office, she has worked in the Centre for Research and International Development (CRID); a centre charged with the responsibility to improve Research quality and impact as well as improve Research training in FUTO, as an Assistant to the Director.
She has also worked in the Banking and Finance Industry where she rose through the ranks to the post of a Branch manager of a Commercial Bank.

PPRC Training Workshops
