Biography

Emmanuel Esenwah is from Illah, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State. He attended the University of Benin, Benin City; Abia State University, Uturu; Federal University of Technology, Owerri and the Nigerian College of Optometrists, Lagos. He is a Chief Consultant Optometrist, whose area of specialization is Ocular Health (Pathology).

His working experience took him through Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Kaduna; Department of Physics, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri before venturing into private practice in 1989. In 2006, he went back to academics where he successfully midwifed the FUTO Optometry programme to fruition.

A Justice of Peace (JP), a Jerusalem Pilgrim (JP) and a Knight of St. Mulumba (KSM), Dr. Esenwah is married with four (4) children, two (2) girls and two (2) boys. He is widely travelled both within and outside Nigeria. His interests include meeting people, evangelization and sports.

Biography

Dr M.E. Okorie, an Optometrist and member, Nigerian Optometric Association, is an alumnus of Mbaise Secondary School, Aboh Mbaise; the College of Technology (now, Federal Polytechnic) Nekede Owerri; and the Abia State University, Uturu Abia State. Married with four children, Dr Okorie was born on April 16, 1960 to the family of Okorie Anosike in Isiama, Eziala-Amumara in Ezinihitte Mbaise, Imo State. He is a practicing Christian who enjoys playing badminton and providing community eye health services for leisure.

Dr. Okorie’s leadership role models are Dr. A.J.V. Obinna, Archbishop of Owerri Catholic Diocese and Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha, the Governor of Imo State.

I am a native of Ndiawa, Arondizuogu, Imo State and married to Chief Okey Ikoro with 4 children. I have attended workshops on Community Eye Health and Educators Presbyopia Education, I am a registered member of the Nigerian Optometric Association, Optometric and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria and a volunteer of the Special Olympics lions Club International Opening Eyes Program as a Clinical Director. I have traveled far and wide and attended conferences both locally and internationally and have presented papers at conferences locally and internationally.

Dr. Irenaeus Chukwuma Nwawume, born in June 28, 1962, is the last of the children of Chief and Lolo Pius Nwawume Onwukwe of Ndiokwu Amafor Nkalu (Ifakala), Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo State. He attended and finished his Primary, Secondary education in Township primary schoool, Ehamufu, Enugu, East Central State(1969-1974), Obazu Community Secondary School, Mbieri, Mbaitoli, Imo State(1975-1980), respectively and graduated as a Doctor of Optometry in the former Imo State University, now Abia State University, Uturu, Abia.( 1982-1988). He is currently a senior academic staff in the Department of Optometry, School of Health Technology, and a Departmental SIWES Co-ordinator, FUTO.

Biography

I, DR. MRS. Edith Daniel Nwosu, Nee Ayo-otto, is from Ukala in Oshimili North LGA of Delta State by birth. By the special grace of God, I am married to Mr. Charles Daniel-Nwosu of Mbieri, Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State. The marriage is blessed with Six(6) strong boys. I had my Secondary Education at Federal Government Girls’ College, Yola, Adamawa State from 1983-1989, where I emerged as one of the best science students in Nigeria. Thereafter, I attended Abia State University, Uturu from 1990-1998, where I bagged my Doctor of Optometry, Degree. Since then, I have worked in various challenging busy practices as listed below. However, I joined the Dept. of Optometry, FUTO in 2009 as an Assistant Lecturer. Presently, my area of interest in teaching and research is Ocular Health and the Environment where I am currently pursuing a post graduate degree.
