Biography

Dr. Chibuzor Chris Ejiogu hails from Nkaramoche Village Ihiagwa in Owerri-West Local Government Area of Imo State. He obtained the West African School Certificate in 1996 and proceeded to the Imo State University where he acquired his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in Industrial Microbiology in 2000. After his NYSC Programme at the Upata 11 Secondary School, Odiabidi, Ahoada-East, Rivers State (2001-2002), he proceeded to the Federal University of Technology, Owerri where he obtained M.Sc and PhD Degrees in the Department of Environmental Health Biology in 2004 and 2018 respectively. He got his first appointment in FUTO as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Technology in 2009 and rose through the ranks to become a senior lecturer in October, 2018. In June, 2022 he was appointed head, Department of Environmental Management. He is an active member of several learned societies such as the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON), Nigeria Society for Microbiology (NSM) and the Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN). Dr. Ejiogu has to his credit more than 30 publications and has attended many conferences, seminars and workshops. He is a Christian and is happily married to Dr. (Mrs) U. G Chris-Ejiogu (nee Okoye) and the marriage is blessed with children.
