Biography

Engr. Dr Longinus Sunday Ezema is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and electronic Engineering, Federal University of Technology, Owerri,  where he has been a faculty member since 2011. Longinus completed his Ph.D at University of Nigeria Nsukka, His M. Eng at Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden and his undergraduate studies at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. His current research interest lies in the areas of configurable antenna and mobile location positioning. His research collaboration has resulted in the development of various products such as COVID-19 Ventilator, COVID-19 Sentinel Wearable Electronic Device (SWED), Fuel Cell (Using Cassava Wast Water), IoT Automation, Solar Trough Power Plant, etc. He is the author or coauthor of more than 36 papers in international journals/conferences, and has presented papers in both international and local conferences. He actively engages students in an interactive/open classroom discussion and render advisory/mentorship role for students. Conduct research and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate (M.Eng & Ph.D) students.

Research Interest

My research interests are in these areas: IoT, Telecommunication Networks Performance and Resource Management, Cognitive Radio Technology, TV White Space, Wireless Sensor Network, location estimation and artificial intelligence.

My current research effort is focused on developing a model/algorithm for estimating mobile location within mobile Communication network with high degree of accuracy that will meet the FCC-USA phase II accuracy requirement for emergency positioning.
