Engr. Dr. Nwachukwu, A.N joined the services of The Federal University of Technology Owerri, (FUTO) as a Graduate Assistant in 2005 and rose to a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Petroleum Engineering. She obtained her B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri and PhD degree partly from the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja (AUST) before transferring to FUTO for the completion of the PhD degree. All degrees are in Petroleum Engineering. Dr. Nwachukwu has taught various Petroleum Engineering courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in FUTO. Her research interests include Reservoir Engineering, Production Engineering & Flow Assurance.  She is a member of notable professional organizations such as Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), and Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN). Dr. Nwachukwu is a COREN registered Engineer since 2009.  She has also published papers with reputable journals. She was the Research Assistant to Prof. Godwin A. Chukwu, Professor Emeritus, University of Alaska, USA who is the lead researcher for the Oil and Gas Research Grant of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, (PTDF) on a Research Project titled “Evaluation of Wax Deposition during Production of Crude Oil in Identified Niger Delta Waxy Oil Fields”. She is in charge of the Laboratory of Excellence for Flow Assurance Research Studies, the host centre for the Oil and Gas Research grant domiciled in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Federal University of Technology, Owerri. Dr. Nwachukwu has supervised many students at the Undergraduate, Masters and PhD levels. Her mentoring role helped many students especially the female students to graduate successfully.
