Prof. Magnus Chima Ofoh
Professor Magnus Chima Ofoh is a Professor of Agronomy (Farming Systems) in the Department of Crop Science & Technology, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. He was born in the late fifties, a native of Okwudor in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo state, Nigeria. Professor M.C. Ofoh obtained B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture from the University of Ife in 1980, M.Sc. Agronomy from the University of Ibadan in 1983 and PhD in Crop Science (Farming Systems) in 1990 also from the same University (Ibadan). Professor Ofoh was employed by the Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR) in July 1981 as a Research Officer in Training and rose to the rank of Senior Research Officer. In September 1992, he transferred his services to the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, (FUTO) Nigeria as a Lecturer and rose to the rank of a Professor in 2006. He has served FUTO as the Head of Department Crop Science and Technology, Associate Dean of School of Agriculture & Agricultural Technology (SAAT), Director, Centre for Agricultural Research (CAR), Dean, School of Agriculture & Agricultural Technology, Dean of Student Affairs Unit and currently the Director Institute of Erosion Studies, Federal University of Technology, Owerri. Professor Ofoh has published widely in major agricultural and other related international and local journals. He was the Merit Award winner of the Award 2004 for Sustainable Agriculture, an Award of Support Africa International in co-operation with Schweinfurt Berg/Taunus, Germany. He is happily married to Lady Christy Chidi Ofoh and the marriage is so far blessed with four children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law and three grandchildren.
