Biography

Mr Osahon Samuel Usen is a native of Bini tribe, born into a family of seven, receiving healthy and insightful parenting from his parents – Deacon Monday O.A. Usen and Deaconess Peace Usen. Family members are doing well. Osahon completed his primary and secondary education levels at Community Primary School Rumuokwurusi and Government Secondary School Elekahia in Port Harcourt at respective times. His educational journey started from his choice technology school being the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) who upon graduation bagged his Bachelor of Technology degree in Geophysics, 2012. He got a sponsored Master of Science scholarship to study Integrated Petroleum Geoscience (Geophysics option) at the NNPC/SHELL JV Center of Excellence in Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering, University of Benin, Edo State. Mr Osahon is an exceptionally brilliant student who through tenacity, resilience and hard work made distinctions (First Class Honours) in both degrees. He also benefitted from the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) in 2017. Mr Osahon has about 6 years technical experience on Seismic Processing/Rep-processing & Field Redevelopment Projects: 4 years as Seismic Data Processing Geophysicist (at CB Geophysical Solutions Limited) and 2 years hands-on experience in Quantitative Seismic Data Interpretation (Production Seismologist/Reservoir Geophysicist, at COE-UNIBEN/Shell Port Harcourt). Mr Osahon is buoyed with the passion to be an academician who believes knowledge acquired is shared; this triggered his transition from the industry to join FUTO Academics in 2018. He is currently an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Geology lecturing students. Summarily, Mr Osahon is an active geoscientist who belongs to professional associations such as NAPE, NMGS and SPE. He is currently in pursuit of his doctoral degree. Mr Osahon Samuel is a vibrant, honest and gentle single man. He is a Christian by His faith.
