Biography

Edmund E. Nkwocha is a Professor of Environmental Management in the Department of Environment Management, Federal University of Technology Owerri. A beneficiary of a French Government Scholarship, he obtained his BSc and MSc degrees in Environmental Planning at the Université d’Aix-Marseille, France. He also bagged a Summa Cum Laude for his PhD thesis in Solid Waste Management Technology at the Université de Provence, France. He has authored many articles in scientific referred journals and his book: Environmental Impact Assessment – Principles and Process remains a current reference material on the subject matter. Prof. Nkwocha was the Head of Department in the Department of Environment Technology and has served as a member of different committees in the university. He teaches and conducts research in the areas of waste-to-wealth, impact assessments, pollution control and environmental sanitation and believes that environmental problems should be solved using a holistic approach. He is associated with a number of national and international scientific bodies in the field of environment and speaks fluent English and French. Aside from teaching and research, he enjoys the outdoors, especially playing long-tennis and swimming. He is active in his Community Development Union and is married with three children.
