Biography

Dr. Anthony Otuonye is the current Head of the Department of Information Technology, Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), and a Senior Lecturer in the same department. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Computer Science from Imo State University Owerri, M.Sc degree in Information Technology from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, and a Ph.D. in Software Engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Nigeria.

Anthony is a seasoned Software Engineer and IT Professional. He has been a research member with the International Research and Development Institute (IRDI) since 2015. He is a Chartered Member of the Nigerian Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) and equally a member of, Nigerian Computer Society (NCS). In recognition of his dedication and commitment to human resource development, his distinguished professional contributions to educational development in Nigeria, and his public-spiritedness, Dr. Anthony was conferred with a Fellowship Award by the Institute of Policy Management Development of Nigeria (IPMD).

He has authored and co-authored three University Textbooks and a Practical Manual in Computer Programming. Anthony has equally authored several research articles in his research interest areas, most of which have been published in renowned International Journals. He has participated in several Academic Conferences and Training Workshops, both locally and internationally. He has equally participated in many specialized training workshops in Information Technology, Software Design, and development as well as Computer Programming.

Before joining academia in 2009, Anthony obtained a few years of IT practice experience with some IT firms in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
