Biography

Dr. Isaac Ogbennaya Igwe was born on December 31, 1960. He attended St. Andrew’s Catholic School, Umuma Isiaku, Ideato South LGA, Imo State, Nigeria, and St. John’s Catholic School, Umuobom, Ideato South LGA, Imo State, Nigeria for his primary education. He passed the First School Leaving Certificate Examination with Distinction in 1971. Dr. Igwe attended National High School, Aro-Ndizuogu, Ideato North LGA, Imo State, Nigeria for his Secondary education where he passed the West African School Certificate Examination of 1977 in Division one.

  • University of Nigeria, Nsukka (M.Sc. Polymer Chemistry, 1989)
  • Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria (Ph.D., Polymer & Textile Engineering, 2000)

Honours

  • Received a Merit certificate in the Mock WASC Examination of National High School, Aro-Ndizuogu, 1977.
  • Was awarded a PRIZE for being the best graduating student, Faculty of Science, University of Maidugiri, 1982 / 83 academic session.
  • Invited by the Royal Society of Chemistry, London to write a Chapter on their proposed Natural Rubber Handbook , Vol. 1 (2012)
