Undergraduate Programme Structure

(To include the period of formal studies, Industrial Training, Project etc.):

(i)   Expected Duration of the Programme
A student will not be allowed to exceed an additional 50 per cent of the duration of the programme if he fails to graduate within the minimum number of years.

(ii)  UTME
Five years is the minimum for UTME candidates.

(iii) Direct Entry
The minimum is four years for Direct Entry candidates who should normally join the department at 200 Level, except holders of good HND who may, at the discretion of the department, join at 300 Level. In all, no candidate will exceed seven years duration on the programme if he/she fails to graduate within the minimum number of years.

(iv) Title of Degree to Be Awarded
The title of the Bachelor of Technology degree to be awarded shall be denoted as “B.Tech in Information Management Technology”.

(v)  Graduation Requirements
The minimum number of credit units for the award of a degree is 180 units, subject to the usual Department and School requirements. A student shall, therefore, qualify for the award of a degree when he has met the conditions. The minimum credit load per semester is 15 credit units and the maximum is 21. However, students at 200, 300 or 400 Levels, with a Cumulative Grade Point Average or CGPA of not less than 3.00 may register up to 24 credit units, subject to the approval of Senate. Irrespective of CGPAs, students at 500 Level, with Senate approval, may register up to 24 credit units in any semester if this will help them graduate. For the purpose of calculating students’ CGPA in order to determine the class of Degree to be awarded, grades obtained in ALL the must be included in the computation. Even when a student repeats the same course many times before passing it or substitutes another course for a failed optional course, grades scored at all attempts shall be included in GPA computation. Pre-requisite courses must be passed before particular courses at a higher level.

The MBA in Information Management Technology requires a minimum of 62 credit units made up as follows:
