Biography

Obed B.C Ndikom holds a (PhD) in maritime management technology, with specialization in shipping management, port reform and operations from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. He has been able to offer assistance and lectures on transport and maritime management technology in some Universities in Nigeria on a part-time basis. He was formerly the General Manager/ Special Adviser to the Managing Director of Cloverleaf shipping Limited, Lagos. He was also the former Head of the transport unit, Department of Geography and Environmental Management Sciences, Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu- ode. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Maritime Management Technology, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO). Dr Ndikom, in fact has had over 20 years of working experience in logistics in so many organizations. He is a marketer, transporter, Communicator and logistician by training. He is also a pedagogically trained teacher by profession. He has over 45 published articles in foreign and local peer-reviewed journals, 9 chapters in books of readings, 2 technical reports, 5 self-authored published books in maritime and transport management. And he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT), London. He is also a foundation board member and a Fellow of the newly established Institute of Logistics Management of Nigeria (FILMN). Finally, Dr Ndikom has facilitated and served as guest speaker in selected seminars and workshops organized within and outside the maritime industry, and he is a renowned consultant in shipping management, port operations, reform policies and maritime transport matters.
