Ms. Banigo Alma Tamunonengiofori is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Technology. She obtained a B.Sc. (Hons.) Degree in Plant Science and Biotechnology, major (Plant Biotechnology) from University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria and M.Sc. Degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Bedfordshire, UK. Her research areas include Biotechnology, Biomaterials, Tissue engineering, Biodegradable drug delivering polymers and a touch of Bioinformatics. She is also interested in mentorship, S.T.E.M and gender equality. She is an active member of Nigerian Institute for Biomedical Engineering (NIBE), Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society, Biotechnology society and many more. She has served as the secretary of registration committees of the local organizing committees for the 1st and 2nd International Congress on Health Sciences and Technology, SOHT, FUTO and NIBE South East Zone Local Seminar, Owerri. She has publications in both international and national journals. In addition to her academic pursuit, she has voluntarily taught Biology and French in Rotary Club Centre District 9141, Port Harcourt during holiday lessons; acted as a resource person and guest speaker in some issues related to mentorship and gender equality.
