Biography

Blessing Uloma Ekemezie, PhD. had her early education at St Mathew’s Primary school Owerre Nkwoji in Nkwerre Local Government Area, later her secondary education in Girls Secondary School Ihioma Orlu all in Imo state. Subsequently, she attended Bishop Lasbrey’s Teachers Training College Irete, where she acquired Teachers Grade II Certificate from 1980 to 1982. From 1983 to 1986, she attended Alvan Ikoku College of Education and obtained a National Certificate of Education (NCE). She continued to University of Nigeria Nsukka and acquired a Bachelor of Education Degree in Guidance and Counselling in 1994; Master in Educational Management and Planning from Imo State University in 2005 and in 2013 earned a Philosophy of Education Degree (PhD) in Educational Administration and Planning from University of Nigeria Nsukka.

Her working experiences started in Wilcox Comprehensive Secondary School Ogbohill Aba, Abia State where she taught Christian Religious Knowledge and Social Studies from 1982 to 1983. Due to difficulty in getting reinstatement into the teaching profession, she secured employment with Champion Newspapers Ltd where she served as a Senior Advert Executive from 1991 to 2001.

Currently, Dr Ekemezie works with the Federal University of Technology, Owerri in the Registry Department.  Have served in various units as follow; from 2001 to 2005, as an Administrative Officer in Information, Public Relations and   Publications Unit (IPRP) as a staff writer. From 2005 to 2009, as an Assistant Registrar in the School of Management Technology where she served as an Acting School Administrative Officer from 2008 to 2009. As a Senior Assistant Registrar, served as a scheduling officer for the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology from 2009 to 2011 in the School of Postgraduate Studies; From 2011 to 2013, as a Principal Assistant Registrar, was appointed as the Head, Information, Public Relations and Publications Unit (Public Relations Officer/Image Maker) of the University and from 2013 to 2016, served as an Acting Coordinator, Admissions Unit. Currently serves in the Student Affairs Unit as a Hall Administrator.

Dr Blessing Ekemezie has up to eight local and international journal publications to her credits in her area of specialization (Educational Administration and Planning). She is married to Chief Ernest O.N Ekemezie, KSC. Their marriage is blessed with five lovely children, three boys and two girls.
