_Forensic science is a multidisciplinary field that applies scientific principles and methods to investigate crimes, analyze evidence, and deliver impartial insights that aid the criminal justice system. By analyzing physical and electronic evidence such as fingerprints, DNA, firearms, or digital footprints, forensic scientists help establish facts in criminal and civil cases.
The fields significance lies in its ability to provide accurate, objective evidence in legal proceedings, making it indispensable in modern law enforcement and judicial systems. Forensic Science ensures that justice is based on verifiable data rather than mere speculation.
The scope of forensic science is vast, covering criminalistics, forensic anthropology, forensic accounting, and digital forensics, among other specializations. Its interdisciplinary nature demands expertise in both science (from Biological and Physical sciences to Computing & Technology) and law, along with a very high commitment to ethical practices.
