Biography

Engr. Dr. Chukwudike Onuoha is a registered Metallurgical Engineer licenced by the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He is currently a Lecturer I in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering Department of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. He had his senior secondary education at Government College Umuahia. He studied Materials and Metallurgical Engineering and obtained B.Eng, M.Eng and Ph.D. degrees from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO). From September 2006 to August 2007, he did the compulsory one-year National Youth Service in Ajaokuta Steel Complex, Kogi State, precisely in the rolling mills department. Dr. Onuoha has industrial experience in fabrication, steel profile rolling, polymer processing and ceramics processing. In March2018, he was appointed a Lecturer II in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. His teaching and research interests span across Workshop Practice, Engineering Materials, Polymer Processing, Mechanical Behaviour of Materials, Nanotechnology/Nanoscale Materials; Iron making& Steelmaking, Nonferrous Metallurgy, Advanced Mineral Processing and Biomaterials. In 2018, Dr. Onuoha pioneered the teaching of the undergraduate course, Biomaterials and pioneered same in the Postgraduate level in 2023. Engr. Dr. C. Onuoha is professionally active and has participated in many conferences, workshops and seminars. He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). He has authored and co-authored several peer reviewed scientific papers in reputable journals. Engr. Dr. C. Onuoha loves and enjoys teaching.
