Biography

JOACHIM C. OSUAGWU is a  Professor of Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO). He obtained B.Eng degree in Civil Engineering  from Anambra State University of Technology Enugu  (ASUTECH) in 1989. He also obtained MBA in Project Management, M.Eng and Ph.D  degrees in  Civil Engineering (Water Resources) from FUTO  in 2004, 2006 and 2012 respectively. He was registered by COREN in 2000. Joachim worked with Crest Associates Consulting Engineers, Owerri (1991-2004). He was the resident Engineer for Obudu Dam Project in Cross Rivers state (1991-1992). J.C. Osuagwu was appointed Project Engineer, Imo state Project Support unit of Local Empowerment and Environmental Management Project (LEEMP) – a World Bank assisted Project in 2004. In 2005, he joined FUTO as Academic staff in the Department of Civil Engineering and rose to the rank of Professor in 2019.  He was the HOD from 2018-2020.

Osuagwu J.C. has  published several academic articles  in reputable local and International  Journals. He has participated and presented papers at several local and International Conferences/Workshops within and outside Nigeria. Prof Joachim is happily married to Mrs Pauline Osuagwu and the marriage is blessed with Children.
